PREPARE YOURSELF FOR PERFORMING UMRAH

The Umrah is a pilgrimage to Makkah performed by Muslims; umrah can be performed at any time throughout the year. In Arabic term Umrah meaning is “to visit a populated place”. According to the technical term used in the Shariah, Umrah meaning is to perform Tawaf (circumambulation) of Kaaba and Saee between mountains of Al-Safa and Al-Marwah, after wearing Ihram. Umrah is sometimes called as the ‘lesser pilgrimage’ or ‘minor pilgrimage’, the Hajj is the ‘major’ pilgrimage and which is obligatory for every able bodied Muslim who is able to afford it. The Umrah is not obligatory but highly recommended.
Following we are sharing some tips on how to earn the most reward out of your Umrah. As human we just can try our best and leave the results to ALLAH as verily, ALLAH is the ever-knowing.

 Prepare yourself for Umrah:

  • Start preparing yourself for Umrah at least few months before. Go through the procedure and patterns, learn by heart some azkaar and duas.
  •  It is important to arrange the sacred trip through a trustworthy and reliable travel agent or agency.
  •  While your stay in Makkah and Madina, there are so many thing that are only concerned to walking like Hotel to Haram and than back to hotel, Tawaf (circumambulation), Saee etc. It is recommended to do practice of walking at least half to one hour daily.
  • Do not take many clothes with you because you have to move there a lot like from Jeddah to Makkah, Madina and Jeddah so it will be a hassle loading and unloading suitcases so keep things at minimum that you can easily carry.
  •  Bring necessary medicines, as there are so many people coming from different countries and bringing many local viruses like flu, fever, allergies etc with them, so, it’s better to be safe and prepared especially if you are travelling with children.
  • Try to learn basic Arabic conversation that will help to make your umrah easier because most of the Arabs prefer to communicate in their local language that is Arabic.

 While staying in Makkah, most of the activities are concerned to Masjid-ul-Haram and the Kaaba. Doing Tawaf (circumambulation), Saee, Salah, recitation of Holy Quran or just watching the Kaaba while sitting, these all are spiritually activities of enriching soul. There are thousands of people all the time present inside the Haram, with similar feelings and intentions, a person should make and follow a time table to get the most out of it while his or her stay in Makkah.

Perform Zohar namaz and then have some food and do some rest because it will be very hot to walk around in afternoon. A person can adjust the schedule while stay as per his or her endurance. Your emphasis should be on to staying as much as in the Haram, repent and pray.
