LESSONS AND TEACHING OF ISLAM
Like other different religions in the world that are based on some particular doctrine which their followers follow, our religion Islam also has the doctrine in the form of Holy Book Quran. Holy Quran is the Divine Book that was revealed on our beloved Prophet (PBUH) by ALLAH, Quran gives guideline to all Muslims and to all humanity to stick and follow the path of righteousness. The imperativeness and the fact that the reading or recitation of Quran has a great religious reward; millions of Muslims across the world learns Quran and tries to understand the message and lesson that ALLAH Almighty convey through it.
There is a second doctrine as well which all Muslims and that is Hadith of our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Hadith is the collection of traditions and sayings of Prophet (PBUH). Muslims takes help to Quran and Haith in order to understand the teaching of islam in understanding Quran and they do the practical implementations of the commendations of Quran in their lives.
When any non-Muslim decides to convert to Islam, he or she has to proclaim and declare Shahadah, it’s a declaration in which he or she clearly states that there is no God but except ALLAH and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the Messenger of ALLAH, a Muslim who is converting to Islam must also accept and believe in it from the bottom of the heart as well.
There are five most important and major pillars of Islam that stand as an obligatory to follow for every Muslim and in the absence among any of them leaves a void in the faith which can only be completed when all the pillars are properly practiced. The first and the basic pillar is Shadah, where a Muslim agrees with full emaan on the Oneness of ALLAH and the Prophet Hood of prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from tongue and from the core of the heart.
The second pillar of Islam is Salah or namaz, which should be offer five times daily on their prescribed times is an obligation to perform upon every Muslim. The third pillar that is mentioned in Islam is Sawm or roza, it’s obligatory on every Muslim to fast every year in the month of Ramadan. The fourth pillar is of alms-giving or Zakat, Zakat is giving a certain ratio of his or her wealth in charity prescribed by ALLAH Almighty, if a person has enough wealth to pay.
The fifth pillar and the last pillar of Islam is Hajj, it is the pilgrimage that every Muslims (if he is physically and financially able to do) undertake to pay homage to the house of ALLAH in sacred city Mecca. All of these pillars are necessary to be practiced if a Muslim wishes to stay true to the faith.
